We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join a leading technology and cloud services organisation based in Bern, Switzerland .
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, automated cloud infrastructure environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer who is passionate about cloud technologies, automation, and DevOps best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, testing, and deployment processes
- Ensure high availability, security, performance, and scalability of cloud environments
- Support both cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure solutions
- Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows environments
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
- Apply DevOps best practices related to automation, version control, and continuous improvement
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
- Support incident management, root-cause analysis, and service optimisation
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical standards and documentation
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer or Azure DevOps Engineer
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure
- Extensive experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or similar technologies
- Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Solid Linux and/or Windows Server administration skills
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar)
- Experience with Git and version control best practices
- Good understanding of cloud security, networking, and governance
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
Desirable Skills
- Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700, AZ-900, DevOps Engineer Expert)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKS)
- Knowledge of secret management and configuration management practices
- Experience working within enterprise-scale or regulated environments
- Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices
