FP&A Business Partner – Product & Solutions (R&D)

Our client is an international Life Science company with a strong focus on innovation and product development. To further strengthen its Finance organization, we are looking for an experienced FP&A Business Partner who will take dedicated financial responsibility for the global Product & Solutions (R&D) function.

This is a newly created position , offering the opportunity to build reporting, analytics and business-partnering capabilities from the ground up while working closely with R&D leadership and senior Finance stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end responsibility for the FP&A cycle of the global R&D / Product & Solutions organization, including closing, budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning.
• Manage and analyse R&D cost centres, projects, OPEX, CAPEX and headcount .
• Prepare variance analyses against budget, forecast and prior year and translate findings into actionable business insights.
• Act as the dedicated Finance Business Partner for R&D leadership and project managers.
• Support portfolio and investment decisions , including project prioritisation, resource allocation and go/no-go decisions.
• Prepare business cases, investment calculations and ROI analyses for new and ongoing R&D initiatives.
• Provide R&D and project controlling , monitoring project budgets, costs, resources and financial risks.
• Design and build Power BI dashboards and modern reporting solutions from scratch.
• Drive the automation and digitalisation of Finance and reporting processes.
• Ensure appropriate financial governance, internal controls and correct cost centre/project accounting.
• Collaborate closely with other FP&A, Controlling and Accounting teams at headquarters.

Your Profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience within FP&A, Finance Business Partnering and/or Controlling.
• Strong practical experience across closing, budgeting, forecasting, planning and financial analysis .
• Exposure to R&D, product development or project controlling is highly desirable.
• Experience within MedTech, healthcare, life sciences or another R&D-intensive industry is a strong advantage.
• Previous Accounting or Audit experience is considered an advantage.
• Strong Power BI and Excel capabilities, ideally including experience building dashboards and reporting solutions from scratch.
• Good understanding of financial governance, accounting principles and internal controls .
• Strong IT affinity and an interest in automation, analytics and digitalisation .
• Full working proficiency in both German and English is mandatory.
