Field System Engineer – Electron Microscopy (Japan)

Your Tasks
- Frontline technical support for customers and OEM partners
- Commissioning of new detector systems, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in-house and at customer sites
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, representing DECTRIS in daily interactions
- Support sales, product management, and development activities through technical expertise and customer feedback
- Support customers in the integration, adoption, and effective use of modern software-based and network-connected detector solutions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service processes, knowledge base development, and support infrastructure
- Position is based in Japan with fieldwork and travel component
Your Skills
- University degree in science or engineering
- Experience with transmission electron microscopy (experience in troubleshooting or modifying electron microscopes is an advantage)
- Strong interest in troubleshooting complex technical systems
- Interest in modern software environments, data workflows, and connected technologies
- Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to work with scientists, engineers, and industrial partners
- Comfortable working in Linux and Python environments
- Fluent Japanese and English required
- Valid driver’s license
